Data and privacy
No account is needed and no name, email or other identity data is collected. This page says what the site keeps, what it does not, and where its data comes from.
What is stored
Each classification stores the product description you typed, any extra fields and answers, the candidate lines and reasoning returned, timing and token usage, and the useful / not useful feedback you give with any corrected code. This is used to fix problems, measure usage and improve accuracy. It is never used for advertising or sold or passed to third parties.
IP address
Your IP address is used only for the daily usage limit. It is stored as a salted hash that cannot be reversed; raw addresses are not kept in the logs.
Share links
Anyone with a share link can see that classification's input and result. Share pages are excluded from search engines. Do not put customer names, contract numbers or other information you would not want seen into the product description.
AI models
Product descriptions are sent to Anthropic's Claude models for the classification reasoning, and tariff numbers are sent to CBP's CROSS rulings database for lookups. Under Anthropic's API policy, content submitted through the API is not used to train models.
Data sources
Tariff text, Section and Chapter Notes come from the HTSUS published by the U.S. International Trade Commission; ruling excerpts come from CBP's public CROSS database; measure rule tables are compiled by this site from Chapter 99 and agency notices. All are public government information, quoted verbatim with the revision shown.
Retention and deletion
Query records are currently kept indefinitely to build the classification evaluation set. To have a record removed, contact the site operator with its share link or the time of the query and it will be deleted.
